Jammu, Nov 1 (IANS) Two soldiers were injured on Wednesday in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K’s Poonch district.
Three Army personnel were injured on Wednesday in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

Preliminary probe revealed the personnel were patrolling Phagwari Gali area in Mendhar sector when the landmine got activated.

Officials said the injured armymen were evacuated to a nearby medical facility and later, two of them were referred to a military hospital in Rajouri for specialised treatment.

Forward areas along LoC are dotted with landmines as part of an anti-infiltration obstacle system, Army officials said. These landmines sometimes get relocated due to natural causes such as soil erosion, rains and floods, leading to such incidents.

Last month, Army's rifleman and two porters got injured in two separate landmine explosions along LoC in Rajouri district. In September, another Army poter and his horse were injured in similar blast in Poonch.
