Guwahati: Two IAF pilots were killed in a crash of a Su30MKI fighter jet in Assam's Karbi Anglong district. Sqn Ldr Anuj and Flt Lt Purvesh Duragkar sustained fatal injuries in the crash, the IAF said on Friday.

Indian Air Force's official handle on X stated: "All personnel of IAF express sincere condolences and stand firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief."

The aircraft took off from Jorhat in Assam on Thursday evening and lost contact with the radar at 7.42 pm. The aircraft was on a routine sortie with the two pilots. The IAF has launched a search operation immediately.
