Possibility platform Yubi, which powers the discovery, investment and fulfilment of credit, has announced the appointment of Venkat Ramana Sonnathi as its group chief architect, said a statement issued today.

The overarching technological architecture for all Yubi platforms, including spocto and Corpository, will be led by Sonnathi in his new role. His focus will be on systems that are large-scale, always-on, high-performance, and easy-to-expand, allowing quick go-to-market and gaining customer trust.

He has over 27 years of expertise in developing web-based and distributed large-scale, highly reliable, and efficient platforms. In his previous stint, he was in charge of scaling the Salesforce platform from B2B to B2B2C and B2C, with an emphasis on caching and async platforms. His time at Intuit also allowed him to play a significant part in the company's evolution from desktop and isolated products to services, cloud, and platforms.

"As our organisation expands, it is imperative that we maintain alignment across current technological architectures. This needs to be done while considering long-term scalability, sustainability, and resilience. We are confident that Venkat will effectively drive our entire technology and software design to solve complex challenges to govern our increasing product portfolio," said Gaurav Kumar, founder and CEO, Yubi.

“With customer centricity at its core, Yubi is carving its niche to build a first-of-its-kind unified lending infrastructure by becoming ubiquitous in the debt market ecosystem, much like UPI has accomplished in payments. I am thrilled to be a part of this epic journey and partake in this challenge of building the go-to large-scale technology platform for all things debt,” said Sonnathi.

Before moving back to India in 2006, he spent 11 years in the US working for Yahoo! and Amazon.

The appointment is in line with the firm's aim of onboarding top talent to strengthen its technical leadership team and offer customers a seamless experience on the platform.

Founded in August 2020, Yubi started its journey as CredAvenue and was rebranded in 2022. In March this year, the firm entered India's coveted unicorn club within 18 months of inception after raising $137 million in its Series B round of fundraising.
