Who says money can’t buy love

So what are you gifting your loved one this Valentine? If you are in Punjab, you may have to think high.

CHANDIGARH: SO WHAT are you gifting your loved one this Valentine? Chocolates, greeting cards, flowers or a candle-lit dinner? Well, if you are in Punjab, you may have to think high. Sky high.

A fifteen-minute chopper ride, for one, is a new hit among the rich and mighty cupids of the pind. For those more rooted to the ground, there’s always the E-Class Merc. Wanna pack more horsepower in your gift, give away a pure breed steed...or a custom-sized Valentine’s credit card. And sure, then there are them good ol’ holidays in Goa, Barcelona or Ibiza.

Says Ajay Vir Singh Dhillon, MD of Jalandhar-based Dhillon Aviation, who has got a long list of inquiries about helicopter flights. A 15-minute joy ride in a chopper could set you back by around Rs 60,000. “I don’t know whether this increase in demand is due to Valentine’s Day, but we are getting a lot of requests from affluent young entrepreneurs of Punjab who are not averse to trying out new things. Recently, a media company also hired our chopper to use it for Valentine’s Day celebrations,” says Mr Dhillon.

Exclusive expensive excursions are another favoured choice.
