"What I find attractive about a candidate"

I get a boost from.......the challenge, the excitement and the fun of creating something new; being given the chance to solve complex problems that help create wealth for the nation and the company.

What I find attractive about a candidate

Apart from the minimum intellectual prowess, I would look into the person's interests, his/her ability to be innovative and creative. I also look for people who have a sense of values and commitment, truth, compassion and service. It goes without saying that the person would be authentic and credible and would possess a perfect blend of both soft and hard skills.

I would offer a leadership position to......someone who can create synergy out of people who create value - someone who is able to get results by optimising productivity.

My team is my......basic building block from the organisational point of view and my friends/ fellow travelers in my personal opinion.

If I don't empower my people......no work will be done, given the complexity of every job. It's all about creating a balance and the energy and synergy required to maximise the resources.

The best decisions that I have taken were......when the objective was clear. This is because when the objective is clear, there is a higher order of alignment. Also the best decisions that I've taken were when I was not just meeting a sales target but when I was serving a bigger cause towards the community like creating jobs.

I have fired people......in cases of lack of integrity towards financial aspects of the business and in some cases- for consistent poor performance.

I evaluate ideas by......measuring the percentage of revenue coming from the product from the macro-level and in micro terms- I see the kind of innovation and creativity put in. We have a new venture support group in each business which reviews such ideas.
