WeWork India, a leading flexible workspace provider has appointed Aman Sharma as the associate director for managed offices in Hyderabad.

Sharma’s role will be instrumental in driving WeWork India's presence in the city. This appointment comes on the heels of Janak Malkani's recent appointment as head of managed office for India, a the firm looks to strengthen its leadership team as well as managed office business.

With over 14 years of diverse sales experience across the hospitality, finance, and real estate sectors, Sharma has held pivotal roles at international brands including Marriott International, American Express, and CBRE. Before joining WeWork India, he was instrumental in leading sales processes for managed spaces and operations at Smartworks.

In H1 2024, Hyderabad witnessed a 71% surge in office demand, reaching up to 5 mn sq ft underscoring the city's robust commercial real estate sector. This growth is driven by its appeal to IT giants and startups, attracted by its skilled workforce and supportive business ecosystem. Moreover, as Global Capability Centres (GCCs) increasingly targeted southern markets, Hyderabad has registered 3 mn sq ft in GCC-focused transactions. WeWork in India serves approximately 30% of its members from GCC entities, highlighting this sector as a key area for future growth.

WeWork India operates over 57 locations across eight cities, totalling more than 8 million sq. ft. The company’s expansion is highlighted by the recent launch in Chennai. The managed office portfolio now accounts for over one-third of WeWork India's business. These strategic appointments reflect WeWork India's commitment towards enhancing its segment and solidifying its leadership in the flexible workspace industry.

Since entering the Indian market in 2017, WeWork India has had over 8 million sq. ft of assets signed across 57 locations in Chennai, New Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad.
