Wadhwani Foundation, a non-profit focused on job creation, has appointed Gopal Devanahalli as president, skilling, to lead its skilling initiatives globally.

Devanahalli has over three decades of leadership experience spanning IT services, software products, BPO, healthcare, education, telecom, and consumer industries. Prior to joining Wadhwani Foundation, he worked as group president – strategy & business development at Manipal Education & Medical Group, the company said in a release.

He has also held CEO roles at MeritTrac and Manipal Education Americas.


“In today’s rapidly evolving job market, skilling is a critical enabler of economic growth. I look forward to collaborating with stakeholders globally to drive impactful skilling programs and create meaningful opportunities,” Devanahalli said.

Devanahalli holds a post graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and an MSc (Tech) in computer science from BITS, Pilani. He has also completed the corporate director certificate from Harvard Business School.

“Ajay Kela will continue to lead the Wadhwani Innovation Network and its centres of excellence, while Devanahalli will oversee the skilling initiatives,” the release said.
