The company is also preparing for a transition at the executive level, with current managing director Mukundan Menon C P set to retire in May 2027. Jayant Balan, currently heading Voltas' room air-conditioner business, will succeed him for a five-year term.
To ensure "continuity and a seamless leadership transition", Voltas has redesignated Balan as managing director-designate until he formally takes over the top executive position. Balan joined Voltas in 2001 and has held leadership positions across manufacturing, supply chain, strategy, international operations and consumer durables. He has been chief executive of the home appliances business since 2019 and took charge of the room AC business in January this year.
