Videocon may get the LG look
Having roped in former LG India boss KR Kim, Videocon is set to see an overhaul in organisational structure and strategy.
Videocon Global would have a product group head structure similar to what Mr Kim had implemented at LG.
While the conventional marketing and sales organisational structure would be done away with, the multiple brands would have a central marketing team. The integration strategy would mean brands like Sansui and Akai among others, which are currently under separate group firms run by brand heads, would be brought under Videocon Global, which would be headed by Mr Kim.
There will be product verticals like consumer electronics, air-conditioners, refrigerators and mobile handsets. The PGH for these verticals would be responsible for all the brands under the product category and there will be no separate sales head. So, the head of refrigerators would be responsible for brands Videocon, Electrolux and Kelvinator at the same time.
