Unilever exec Kumaraswamy to co-head L Catterton's India ops

L Catterton has picked Vikram Kumaraswamy to co-head its India operations, it said in a release on Thursday. Kumaraswamy will work alongside Anjana Sasidharan, the firm’s existing India co-head. Kumaraswamy was previously with Unilever Plc where he was the global head of corporate development and treasury.

He led Unilever Plc group’s strategic capital allocation and portfolio development initiatives, spearheaded corporate strategy, deal sourcing and execution, as well as corporate venturing in that role. He oversaw investments and divestments amounting to around $15 billion at the company.

“Vikram is a widely respected investor and operator with deep roots in India and vast experience across the world,” said Sanjiv Mehta, India executive chairman, L Catterton. Mehta was previously the chief executive officer of Hindustan Unilever Limited.


“L Catterton Executive Chair and Co-Founder Michael Chu and I have known him for many years and have consistently been impressed by his business acumen and high calibre steering of strategic initiatives,” said Mehta.
