UK-based database management firm DSP opens first overseas GCC in Bengaluru, partners GoodWorks Group

Bengaluru: UK-based database management company DSP on Thursday has set up its first overseas Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, marking the firm's entry into India.

DSP has roped in GoodWorks Group as its consulting partner to establish the centre, which will be housed at GoodWorks GCC Nexus in the city, said the company in a statement.

The centre was inaugurated by CEO of Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, in the presence of director, technology, innovation, education and skills at the British Deputy High Commission K T Rajan, and other industry representatives.


"Bengaluru's talent ecosystem makes it the right location to scale innovation and deliver greater value to our clients globally. Our GCC will strengthen our consulting, delivery, and technology capabilities across the Oracle landscape," said Paul Cocks, group chief operating officer, DSP, in the statment.

An Oracle Premium Partner, DSP said the India hub will combine its global expertise with local talent, statement added.

KDEM's Gupta said DSP's decision to set up its first overseas GCC in Bengaluru reflects the state's standing as a GCC destination. Karnataka is home to over 1,000 GCCs employing more than 660,000 professionals — roughly 40% of India's total GCC workforce.

"GCCs here are no longer cost centres; they are global innovation headquarters," he said.

Sonia Sharma and Vishwas Mudagal, cofounders of GoodWorks Group, said the new centre will strengthen DSP's capabilities across enterprise database management, cloud, and technology services for global clients.
