Uday Khanna quits Voda Idea board within a month in the job

Khanna’s resignation comes within a month of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular merging their operations.

According to reports, the former managing director and chief executive of Lafarge India serves on the boards of six other companies.
MUMBAI: Vodafone Idea’s independent director Uday Khanna resigned less than a month into his job, citing “avoidance of any semblance of conflict of interest with his other board positions”.

The resignation is effective September 28, the telecom operator said.

Khanna’s resignation comes within a month of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular merging their operations to create the largest telecom company in India. The two completed the transaction on August 31.


According to reports, the former managing director and chief executive of Lafarge India serves on the boards of six other companies: Murugappa Group, Bata India, Castrol India, Pfizer, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Pidilite Industries.
