MUMBAI: French BPO giant Teleperformance announced it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Intelenet from Blackstone for $1billion late on Thursday.
Blackstone had first invested in Intelenet in 2007 and in 2011, then sold the stake to UK's Serco Group for £250 million ($383 million at the time). In 2013, Blackstone bought back Intelenet from Serco for £250 million (Rs 2,558 crore).
ET was the first to report on the deal on June 14.
“Intelenet’s strong integrated solutions and digital optimisation capacities will immediately and significantly enhance Teleperformance’s offering,” said Daniel Julien, chief executive , Teleperformance.
Intelenet’s footprint in India is also an opportunity for the Euronextlisted firm to strengthen its presence as part of its 2018-22 strategic plan.
“We have invested in Intelenet twice,” said Amit Dixit, senior MD and head of private equity in India for Blackstone.
“Continued success is a testament to exceptional quality of the management team, the value delivered to its customers, and deep engagement with Blackstone.
