Technology's a great servant, but poor master

Before purchasing a gadget, he reads evaluations on technical sites and looks up user reviews. He confesses more biasness towards functionality rather than sleekness of gizmos.

The enthusiasm for gadgets is apparent when I talk to Diageo India MD Santosh Kanekar. But he is quick to point out, technology is a great servant, but poor master. It is there to better life but one cant lose control of life to it.

Before purchasing a gadget, he reads evaluations on technical sites and looks up user reviews. He confesses more biasness towards functionality rather than sleekness of gizmos.

At present, hes using a Nokia N95 model, which has a 8GB memory, is GPRS-enabled and has a 5MP camera. Apart from the primary functions, it helps check emails, click photos, records voice and thoughts on the move and view podcasts, he says. He also uses a Lenovo T61 notebook and loves itswidescreen, reliability and simple features.

He uses an Itouch to catch up his favourite music and cant live without it as well as his Seinheiser earphones. Mr Kanekar has studio quality Sony earphones, which are connected to the portable JBL docking station. He also has a Sony Playstation 2 and loves playing the games Godfather, Age of Empires, Shadow of Colossus and GTA series on it.
