Tech Mahindra ropes in employees for yoga movement
In a bid to engage its employees to be a part of the movement, Tech Mahindra is planning yoga sessions for employees to be conducted by Isha Foundation.

CP Gurnani, CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra can be seen wearing a yoga T-shirt to work these days, endorsing International Yoga Day. Tech Mahindra is the government’s knowledge partner for this event and has designed the portal www.idayofyoga.org, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Unesco headquarters in Paris in April.
In a bid to engage its employees to be a part of the movement, Tech Mahindra is planning yoga sessions for employees to be conducted by Isha Foundation and Art of Living every day, laughter yoga sessions, surya namaskar contests, a yoga mob involving employees across its 30 offices in India on June 22.
There will also be three major promotional activities involving employees at John F Kennedy International Airport at New York, EWR-Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and Changi airport in Singapore.
"Our in-house team for all cultural activities, called ‘Josh’, is actively involved in these activities. They’re going up to each floor in all our locations with experts to encourage employees to take breaks and do stretch exercises. We believe in placing wellness before business. It’s about being an employer brand and not just a customer brand," said Sucharita Palepu, global head, people policies and practices at Tech Mahindra.
