The centre, which will run in partnership with NGO ANK, will focus on supporting and offering better livelihood opportunities to underprivileged urban youth and migrant workers in the region.

It will provide youth/workers real-estate skills training, particularly in the areas of electrical and civil, including practical know-how, construction, safety supervisory among others, TMF said in a statement.

Apart from technical training, the centre will also ensure overall job readiness, including skills like self-confidence and communication skills and connect them to potential employers for placement.

Conceptualised one and half years back, the SMART programme operates centres across the country and has trained over 12,000 students thus far.

"We believe that SMART is a very powerful concept and are extremely happy to inaugurate our 50th such centre with many more in the pipeline. This is doubly special for us as this is the first SMART-T centre, with a specially designed course to impart Technical skills to students," TMF CEO Loveleen Kacker said.
