TCS employees now have to wear these dresses to office

In an email sent to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employees, Chief Human Resources Officer Milind Lakkad has said that the company is imposing new dress code rules for them. Lakkad in the email pointed out that following a dress code is essential to creating a favourable impression on stakeholders around the world. The dress code rules lays out exactly what should be worn for formal events and responsibilities.

When representing TCS in public forums, business meetings, or on formal occasions on TCS property, like client visits, townhalls, and special occasions when a formal dress code is specifically stated, associates are expected to wear formal clothes in accordance with the dress code.

The dress code includes options like business suits, formal full-sleeved shirts, trousers, formal skirts, sarees, salwar suits, and formal footwear in neutral colors.

Monday through Thursday is business casual, which entails formal shirts, skirts, trousers and proper footwear. Employees may choose to dress in smart casuals on Fridays, which include collared t-shirts, half-sleeved shirts, trousers, jeans and casual shoes.

In the same email, TCS employees were also informed that work from home will no longer be an option and they have to visit office five days a week. "A large number of our associates have joined us in the last two years and have been working in a virtual or hybrid mode, and it is our responsibility to ensure they are well integrated – working from the office is key to internalize the TCS values and the TCS way," says the email.
