Tatas to merge housing, infra businesses
The businesses are parked under Tata Housing and Tata Realty & Infrastructure, both subsidiaries of Tata Sons, the apex holding company of the conglomerate.

This will be the first amalgamation of group companies under N Chandrasekaran, who recently completed a year as the conglomerate’s chairman.
The long-cycle businesses of infrastructure development and concessions will be headed by Sanjay Ubale, it said. The new head of infrastructure and urban solutions will report to Banmali Agrawala, president of Tata Sons’ infrastructure, aerospace & defence businesses.
Ubale will also work closely with the group chairman on state-related policy matters.
“The real estate and infrastructure businesses will both continue to grow given the needs of India’s fast-growing economy, and the Tata Group has the resources, skills and scale to make a significant impact,” Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran said.
Tata’s realty business now will include commercial real estate and housing, and will be run as a joint business. The company appointed Sanjay Dutt as the managing director of Tata Realty & Infrastructure. He will also oversee the operations of Tata Housing Development Company, where managing director Brotin Banerjee resigned citing “personal reasons”.
Dutt is currently the chief executive of India operations and private funds at Ascendas-Singbridge. He will assume the new role on April 1.
