Tata Steel bags 2013 CII-ITC Sustainability Award

JAMSHEDPUR (JHARKHAND): Tata Steel was conferred with the prestigious CII-ITC Sustainability Award, 2013 in 'Category A' for Large Independent Companies at CII-ITC Sustainability Awards 2013 today.

Tata Steel received the recognition for its exemplary performance and contribution in the economic, social and environmental segment of its business, a Tata Steel press release said.

The award function was graced by Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, and T V Narendran, Managing Director, Tata Steel (India and South East Asia) received the award in the presence of dignitaries and representatives from the Government and leaders of the corporate world.

Expressing his delight, Narendran said, "We are honoured to receive the CII- ITC Sustainability award which acknowledges Tata Steel's efforts in the area of Sustainability. We believe in giving back to the society and these are the principles on which we build our company and we have adhered to these for 100 years and we would like to go forward with these."
