Tata Sons reappoints N Chandrasekaran as Executive Chairman for a second term of five years

N Chandrasekaran has been reappointed as chairman of Tata Sons for a second term of five years, having the support and approval of the board of Tata Trusts and its chairman Ratan Tata. A board meeting held today at Bombay House ratified the same. Chandrasekaran, popularly referred to as Chandra in business and media circles, assumed Tata Sons' top office in 2017 amid a major boardroom turmoil — a tumultuous period marked by trust deficit and leadership crisis following the sudden and bitter ouster of Cyrus Mistry.
