Ankur Verma joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was the Managing Director for its investment banking division.

Tata Sons names BoFA i-banker Ankur Verma to chairman's office
MUMBAI: Tata Sons, the holding company of the salt-to-software conglomerate, hired investment banker Ankur Verma to join the Chairman's Office, effective March 14 on Tuesday.

Verma joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was the Managing Director for its investment banking division.

"He brings with him extensive experience in the areas of corporate planning, strategy, investment banking and mergers & acquisitions," group spokesperson, Tata Sons told ET in an emailed statement.

Verma studied business administration at Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta after graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering.

Tata Sons appointed new Chairman N. Chadrasekaran on February 21 after dismissing former Chairman Cyrus Mistry in October last year. The new chairman is expected to put together his own Group Executive Council soon to aid him in running the $103 billion conglomerate.
