Tata Motors appoints RA Mashelkar as Independent Director
India's largest commercial vehicle maker Tata Motors on Tuesday said it has appointed R A Mashelkar as its Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

NEW DELHI: India's largest commercial vehicle maker Tata Motors on Tuesday said it has appointed R A Mashelkar as its Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.
Mashelkar is presently holding Presidentship of Indian National Science Academy (INSA), National Innovation Foundation, Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK and GLobal Research Alliance, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Prior to this, he has served as the Director General of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for 11 years.
In 1998, Mashelkar became the first scientist to win the prestigious JRD Tata Corporate Leadership Award.
