Tata Group, Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra among most transparent companies

MUMBAI: Indian firms came out with flying colours in a survey of 100 emerging market MNCs conducted by anticorruption watchdog Transparency International , which attributed the strong Indian performance to the country’s strict corporate reporting laws .

As many as six Tata companies figured in the top 10, with Tata Communications topping the list. Overall , three quarters of the companies scored less than 5 on a scale of 0 to 10. Chinese companies , which made up a third of those surveyed , averaged a score of 2 while their Indian counterparts averaged 5.37 . Here’s a look:
