A BITS Pilani mechanical engineering alumnus, Lakshminarayanan has worked in the US, Hong Kong, Australia, the UK, Japan and India. He is also an alumnus of London Business School.
The Board of Tata Communications (Tata Comm) appointed Amur Swaminathan Lakshminarayanan as the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of the telecom company.

" Board of Directors ("Board") of Tata Communications Limited ("the Company"), has today, appointed Mr. Amur Swaminathan Lakshminarayanan as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company for a term of five years with effect from 26 November 2019," said the firm in a regulatory listing on Tuesday.

Lakshminarayanan's appointment as MD and CEO shall be subject to necessary approvals of the shareholders of the Company.


Prior to joining Tata Comm, Lakshminarayanan was the president and CEO of TCS , Japan where he was in charge of accelerating the company’s market opportunity and developing the brand in the region.

The alumnus of London Business School and BITS, Pilani has worked in USA, Hong Kong, Australia, UK as well.
