Sujeet Jain of UltraTech Cement joins Nykaa to head its legal and compliance

Sujeet Jain, chief legal officer at the country’s largest cement maker UltraTech Cement Ltd joins listed e-commerce firm FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd., operator of beauty and personal care marketplace Nykaa.

Jain becomes key managerial personnel (KMP) at FSN E-Commerce with his joining as Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer at Nykaa and has also been appointed as Company Secretary (CS) and Compliance Officer.

“Sujeet joined Nykaa in January 2023 to further strengthen the company’s legal, regulatory and governance frameworks,” said the company in its regulatory filing on Monday. “Sujeet is a qualified lawyer, Company Secretary, Cost Accountant and an MBA holder, with over 25 years of experience in Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT), Cement and diversified sectors in leadership and senior management roles.”


An alumnus of Government Law College and an MBA from the University of Warwick from the 1996 and 2004 batches, he started his career at Thakkar & Thakkar Advocates & Solicitors.

In January 1998, Jain joined Hutchison Telecom (Now, Vodafone India) as senior manager - legal and CS. Subsequently, he also joined People Group, operator of Shaadi.com and later Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. before joining Aditya Birla company UltraTech Cement in April 2019.

The company also said in its stock exchange filing that, Sujeet was associated with Viacom18 Media as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary where he witnessed the company's multi-fold growth journey as one of the leading media organizations in India.

This is the second major appointment by the company in the last two months. In January, the company appointed P. Ganesh as its chief financial officer (CFO).
