Subir Raha joins Hinduja Group
Subir Raha, the former high-profile CMD of ONGC, has joined Hinduja Group as executive vice-chairman.
In the power company, he will manage the group’s proposed thermal, hydro, and wind-power projects as well as bio-fuel initiatives. Speaking on his appointment Mr Raha said: “After three and a half decades in India’s public sector and a year’s sabbatical, I am looking forward to an exciting opportunity with the Hinduja Group in the globalised Indian private sector.”
He will be a key member of the leadership team in the group that is engaged in global opportunities in the energy sector and advise the group in its overseas businesses on organisational and growth strategies, said a release from Hinduja Group.
The group’s activities in India consist of automotive, financial services, ITeS, media and entertainment and infrastructure project development. Its only listed venture in the oil business is lubricant company Gulf Oil. The group plans to enter the power, real estate, healthcare and insurance sectors.
