Bengaluru: Infosys is likely to elevate Subhro Mallik to take over as head of the healthcare and life sciences vertical, replacing Sangita Singh who resigned.

Mallik, an Infosys employee for nearly two decades, will lead the vertical and report to Mohit Joshi, a person aware of the development told ET. Joshi is one of the five key leaders who directly report to chief executive Salil Parekh.

Mallik, who is currently senior vice-president and head of life sciences based out of Greater New York City, manages one of Infosys’ key clients, Pfizer.

Singh resigned from her role last week after spending nearly two years at Infosys. She was previously chief executive of healthcare and life sciences business unit at cross-town rival Wipro.

“After Sangita Singh’s resignation, Subhro may take over and report into Mohit Joshi. When she (Singh) joined Infosys from rival Wipro, she wanted to directly report to the CEO,” said the person who did not want to be named.

However, another Infosys spokesperson refuted such claims saying: "Subhro Mallik has been named to be the Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences vertical after Sangita Singh’s resignation is incorrect and no such announcement has been made."

Singh was not reachable for comment.

Infosys also named Atul Soneja the head of its product and platforms subsidiary EdgeVerve following Nitesh Banga’s exit. This means Soneja is going to take over part of Banga’s responsibilities.
