Mumbai-headquartered law firm SNG & Partners elevates Amit Aggarwal as the managing partner of the firm to head its corporate and non-contentious practice areas. The firm’s founder Rajesh Narain Gupta has transitioned to the role of chairman and will continue to guide the firm through all strategic decisions.

An alumnus of Delhi University from the 1999 batch and a qualified Company Secretary, Aggarwal has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s initial expansion to Mumbai, and later expanding the firm’s international footprint to Singapore and Doha.

“With an illustrious and impactful professional journey, he has stood out as someone whose values are aligned with the firm’s values,” said Rajesh Narain Gupta, founder and chairman of SNG & Partners. “Not only has he handled complex and multi-layered issues in the key high-stake matters handled by the firm, but he has also mentored other Partners to take on leadership roles. Today, he plays a pivotal role in strategizing, devising and implementing the firm’s expansion plans.”

He has authored and co-authored several books on diverse subjects, including ‘Dishonour of Cheques and Innovative Digital Frauds’, ‘Law Relating to Guarantees’ and ‘Documentary Letters of Credit - A Review of cases from the Courts of India’, amongst others.

“I take the responsibility of taking it onwards and upwards,” said Amit Aggarwal. “Along with practice area and geographical expansion, my key focus will be to enlarge the talent pool and promote merit-based growth as the DNA of the firm.”

The development follows the path to professionalise the management of the firm further. In August 2022, the firm announced Sanjay Gupta as managing partner for dispute resolution practice. Since then, the firm has onboarded partners in diverse practice areas and has also announced organic promotions, taking the partner headcount at the firm to 24.
