Shree Cement net up six-fold at Rs 236 cr

Shree Cement on Saturday said its net profit jumped about six-fold to Rs 235.63 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.

MUMBAI: Shree Cement on Saturday said its net profit jumped about six-fold to Rs 235.63 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.

The company had a net profit of Rs 41.07 crore in the March quarter of FY'08, Shree Cement said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income rose to Rs 811.64 crore in the quarter from Rs 664.24 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.

For the full year ended March 31, 2009, Shree Cement registered a net profit of Rs 577.96 crore as compared to Rs 260.37 crore in the previous fiscal.

Total income increased to Rs 2,740.57 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009, from Rs 2,129.42 crore earlier.

During the quarter, the company started and completed trial production from its one-MTPA clinkerisation unit at Bangur City in Rajasthan.

Besides, the company has declared a dividend of Rs 5 on equity shares of Rs 10 each for the year 2008-09.

Shree Cement fell by 0.97 per cent to close on Rs 813.35 in the Friday trade on the BSE.
