Selco announces Surya Mitra awards for Nevelle Williams, Richenda Van Leeuwen & SVYM

Bengaluru-based nonprofit Selco has announced its Surya Mitra awards for solar energy pioneer Nevelle Williams, Aspen Network executive director Richenda Van Leeuwen and HD Kote-based Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM).

“This year the Surya Mitra will be awarded to two exceptional individuals and one organization who have dedicated their work in creating an equitable world by enabling access to critical resources for the benefit of the under-served,” the organization said in a press release.

Williams has promoted solar power applications around the World since 1988, Leeuwen has been leading and guiding several global agencies to foster entrepreneurship, and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) for working to strengthen the health infrastructure in rural areas.


Selco will present the awards at an event at Ambedkar Bhavan in Bengaluru on Sep 24, the press release added.
