SCOPE calls for greater autonomy, empowerment of PSEs
Intervention and support of the government was sought to help PSE Boards function as a more cohesive body, SCOPE Chairman said.

Intervention and support of the government was sought to help PSE Boards function as a more cohesive body, SCOPE Chairman C S Verma said during a three-day national Workshop held in Jaipur.
In the interest of individual aspirants to the board level positions, it was also mentioned that PESB would consider greater transparency in the selection procedure, the apex body said.
Verma also asked the senior executives of public sector enterprises (PSEs) to focus on immense opportunities they have in their positions to make a difference. In this period of risk and uncertainties, boards of companies need to play a proactive role, be receptive to new ideas and adopt new approaches with an open mind, he added.
"For the same, the senior management of PSEs need to continuously focus on learning, un-learning and re-learning," he said.
