Satyam's top deck sees changes

Hyderabad-based Satyam Computer Services has seen a top deck reshuffle.

MUMBAI: Hyderabad-based Satyam Computer Services has seen a top deck reshuffle with its head of human resources, Hari T, moving to take on the role of global marketing and communications head at New Jersey and SV Krishnan, who led Satyam’s GE relationship for five years, replacing him.

Mr Hari will also oversee the company’s branding exercise to present a unified message to customers, associates and stakeholders.

Other changes include the elevation of Pavan Kumar to the newly created post of chief technology officer and Vijay Prasad as chief information officer.

Mr Kumar will lead a 100 people team that will incubate new technologies and also embed them in projects where they can add value to clients. “Customer expectations are changing. They want us to provide solutions that will make them more competitive in business,” Satyam CEO B Rama Raju said.

One of the briefs of the team will be to work on technology forecasts and interact with clients on new engagements. The team will be located across different geographies with a few people also on projects. “Clients expect us to recommend which technologies to use. This will be our showcase,” Mr Raju added.

Mr Kumar’s earlier role as a technical solutions architect had similar responsibilities and involved building tools and competencies.
