Salil Parekh reappointed as Infosys CEO & MD for another five years

Infosys' Board of Directors reappointed Salil Parekh as CEO and MD for another five years, the IT major announced today.

Parekh's new term is effective July 1, 2022 till March 31, 2027. Shareholder approval is being sought for the same, the company said.

Parekh has been at the helm of Infosys since January 2018.


He has more than thirty years of global experience in the IT services industry with a strong track record of driving digital transformation for enterprises, executing business turnarounds, and managing successful acquisitions, a company statement said.

Before Infosys, Parekh was a member of the Group Executive Board at Capgemini. There, he worked at a number of leadership positions over a period of 25 years.

He was also a Partner at Ernst & Young. He was hailed for imparting scale to the Indian operations of the firm.

Parekh is a Master of Engineering degrees in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. He did his Bachelor of Technology degree in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Bombay.
