RSP lights up the lives through Project Sunayana
Life has changed for good for auto-rickshar driver Vinod Singh, a resident of Golghar area, due to an initiative by Rourkela Steel Plant.

Vinod, in his late fifties, was suffering from cataract in both eyes. He was about to lose his livelihood as it was impossible for him to get treatment due to his weak financial condition.
The Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR) department of RSP came to his rescue through Project Sunayana and got him treated at the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) for free and provided him and his family with a new lease of life, an official of RSP said.
Kumari Patra, a senior citizen living in the slums of Sector-16 of Rourkela also has a similar story. She suffered from cataract which was detected a few months ago.
She was operated under Project Sunayana at IGH recently. Kumari says she was overwhelmed by the care and treatment she received at IGH and extremely happy at regaining her vision.
Three others namely Md. Abbas, a tailor from Jhirpani, Malli Barik living the slums of sector-20 and Dhundi Lakhua living in the slums of Sector-6, also suffering from similar illness received treatment and care at the IGH and were operated upon successfully recently.
It is noteworthy that Project Sunayana is the CSR initiative of RSP that provides financially weak adults of periphery villages a bright opportunity to see the world again with all its splendour.
All the five patients have been discharged from IGH, RSP sources said.
They were given instruction sheets describing proper care of the eye after operation, goggles and other necessary material.
