Mumbai: Renew's chief operating officer (COO), Balram Mehta, has left after spending more than 14 years at the company, two people aware of the details confirmed.

Mehta was among the first employees at the Sumant Sinha-promoted company. He headed its wind business that has an installed wind power-generation capacity of 4.7 GW.

Mehta's exit was announced through an internal email Wednesday.

He had joined ReNew in 2011 and was designated as COO & group president, services business and wind projects. He used to also oversee the entire asset management function and the digital transformation program at ReNew.

“His resignation was formally announced by Sinha to employees today (Wednesday). Sivaprasad Manikkapurath, the president, solar utility scale at ReNew will take over the responsibilities from Mehta immediately,” said this person aware of the details. Sivaprasad has been with ReNew since July 2020.

A company spokesperson did not reply to an email seeking comment. Mehta could not be reached for comment.
