Reliance Industries Ltd gets certified as a 'Responsible Care' under American Chemistry Council

RIL has become the first Indian firm to be certified as "Responsible Care Company" under the American Chemistry Council.

NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has become the first Indian firm to be certified as "Responsible Care Company" under the American Chemistry Council (ACC).

RIL's petrochemical business won this accolade for its robust management system that ensures highest standards of health, safety, security and environmental performance for both its products and operations, the company said in a statement.

The standard encompasses the entire business eco-system covering products, plants, offices, distribution channel and community.

"Responsible Care" is the global chemical industry's initiative to drive health, safety, security and environmental performance improvements.

The programme operates in over 50 countries with active participation from all major global chemical companies like ExxonMobil, Shell, Dow, BASF, Bayer, Mitsubishi, DuPont and others.
