Rel Infra bags safety innovation award

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani-owned Reliance Infrastructure has been awarded 'safety innovation award' for its 500-MW coal-based thermal power plant at Dahanu in Maharashtra.

NEW DELHI: Anil Dhirubhai Ambani-owned Reliance Infrastructure has been awarded 'safety innovation award' for its 500-MW coal-based thermal power plant at Dahanu in Maharashtra.

The award was given by the Institute of Engineers for the current calender year at a Safety Convention organised by them.

"The Dahanu Thermal Power Station, commissioned in 1995, has been recognised by the institute as best performing coal-based power station in the country for its operational excellence, environment management, quality, safety and corporate social responsibility," Institute Chairman S S Yadava said is a statement.

Other companies which bagged the safety excellence award include NTPC, Indian Oil Corporation, BILT, Pragati Power, GAIL, HPCL, Bharat Aluminium, Sterlite Industries, VST Industries, ACC Ltd.
