MUMBAI: Nanobiosym, a leading nanotechnology firm, today announced that Ratan Tata, Chairman of the multi billion-dollar global conglomerate Tata Group, has joined the firm's Global Advisory Board.

Nanobiosym Chairman and CEO, Dr Anita Goel said she was honoured to welcome Ratan Tata to their Global Advisory Board.

"I am inspired by his example, which provides us with a practical road map for bringing cutting edge technologies into emerging global economies and extending our reach to broad markets at the bottom of the pyramid," she said in a release today.

Nanobiosym has developed Gene-RADAR, a portable nanotechnology platform that can rapidly and accurately detect genetic fingerprints from any biological organism.

Goel's vision is to give patients worldwide real-time access to their own diagnostic information through low-cost handheld devices that could detect disease from a single drop of blood or saliva, the release said.
