Rangu Salgame quits Tejas Networks

Rangu Salgame, CEO who created ripples by leaving the multi-billion dollar networking giant Cisco to move into less than $100 mn networking equipment maker Tejas Networks, has quit in less than four months of joining the company.

BANGALORE: Rangu Salgame, the high-profile tech CEO who created ripples by leaving the multi-billion dollar networking giant Cisco to move into less than $100 million networking equipment maker Tejas Networks, has quit in less than four months of joining the company.

Mr Salgame was the president of Tejas Networks. Tejas CEO and MD Sanjay Nayak confirmed the news but declined to comment on why Salgame is leaving. When asked if Tejas would be looking for Salgame���s replacement, Nayak said nothing had been decided as yet, but added that the company ���was on track with its plans and continued to attract good talent��� . The company has removed Salgame���s profile from its website.

Mr Salgame joined Tejas on October 2007 and was given a mandate to take the company���s revenues from $100 million (its target for FY08) to $1 billion. When contacted by ET, Mr Salgame confirmed the development but didn���t give any reason.
