Ambani brothers. More
JAIPUR: They may have scripted the mother of all sibling rivalries, but Ambani brothers are united for at least one cause: the development of Nathdwara temple town in Rajsamand district, about 45 km from Udaipur.

Thanks to mother Kokilabens unflinching faith in the Shrinathji temple of Nathdwara, her two sons have taken up the cause jointly.

According to railway sources, the managements of both Mukesh Ambanis Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Anil Ambanis ADAG have both exerted pressure and got the railways approval for conversion of the track leading to Nathdwara from the existing metre-gauge to broad gauge.

Kokilaben, during one of her visits four years ago, had assured the Nathdwara residents about conversion of the track. She is vice-president of the Srinathji Temple Trust and a regular visitor to the shrine. She sought blessings of the deity after the property dispute between the brothers was resolved.

Initially, the railway board was insisting on first completing the Ajmer-Pushkar railway track which is under construction. But suddenly the regional office was told by the board to take up the Mawli-Nathdwara track, which was sanctioned by the North Western Railway GM a few days back, said an official. He said About Rs 30 crore will need to be spent to convert the 16 km long Mawli-Nathdwara track.

The official also confirmed that the local area representatives of RIL and ADAG had met them, offering their help in completing the project. The Railway Board wrote to the zonal office on April 22 this year to take up the project immediately, which would not have been possible without external pressure, claimed another railway official.
