Pramit Jhaveri is stepping down as a trustee on board of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. In a letter to Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata that he does not wish to be considered for reappointment as a trustee of the Sir Dorab Tata Trust when his current term ends on February 11, 2026.

In a letter dated January 31, Jhaveri said he has served as a trustee since February 12, 2020, after being invited by the late Ratan N. Tata to join the board. He noted that the decision had been discussed earlier with Noel Tata and was now being formally communicated.

Jhaveri described his tenure as an honour and conveyed his best wishes to the Tata Trusts for the years ahead. The letter was also marked to the trustees of the Sir Dorab Tata Trust and Siddharth Sharma, CEO of Tata Trusts.


The Sir Dorab Tata Trust is one of the principal philanthropic trusts of the Tata group, holding a significant stake in Tata Sons.

He had been appointed to the Tata Trusts board in February 2020, during the late Ratan Tata’s tenure as its chairman.

The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the Sir Ratan Tata Trust own over 51% of Tata Sons, the group’s holding company.
