European diamond house Tolkowsky has entered into an exclusive tieup with city-based jeweller C Krishniah Chetty & Sons (CKC) to introduce its collection of diamonds in the Indian market.
BANGALORE: European diamond house Tolkowsky has entered into an exclusive tieup with city-based jeweller C Krishniah Chetty & Sons (CKC) to introduce its collection of diamonds in the Indian market. Six collections of diamond jewellery from the 200-year-old house are being launched initially and will be available at Krishniah Chetty���s flagship diamond store in Bangalore. The tieup covers design, marketing and production, with the partners sharing costs, CKC MD Vinod Hayagriv said. The partners are also jointly developing a collection of diamond jewellery, which will be launched in two months. CKC plans to open six stores by 2012. ���CKC and Tolkowsky have been doing business for several years and it is the first time that the brand is available as an exclusive range in India. The diamonds will be cut and polished between the Thailand and Botswana factories of Tolkowsky,��� said Mr Hayagriv.
Renault-Nissan starts construction in Chennai
New Delhi: Vehiclemaker Renault Nissan Automotive India on Friday kicked off construction work for its new passenger vehicle plant in Chennai, which will have a capacity of four-lakh units a year and will be set up with an investment of Rs 4,500 crore. The company held a ground breaking ceremony at the site in Chennai. ���This is an important day in Chennai for Renault, Nissan, our local employees and the community. The new project is a very tangible result of the strength and success of the Renault-Nissan Alliance and is a clear indicator of RNAIPL���s long-term strategy for this important market,��� RNAIPL MD Shohei Kimura said in a statement.
E-bike makers expect 5-10% jump in sales
Chandigarh: Domestic electronic bike makers are expecting a 5-10% jump in their sales on the back of a steep hike in fuel prices, which is giving jitters to the automobile companies. Within a day of the announcement of the increase in fuel prices by union government, the electronic-bike manufacturers have witnessed record sales in their bikes and received a lot of enquiries for setting up dealer network across the country. ���Hike in petrol prices is a positive development for the e-bike industry and we expect it will boost sales of battery-driven bikes by at least 5-10%,��� Avon Cycles senior manager (marketing) US Dubey said.
Chennai: Italian modular Kitchen company Aran World has picked up 49% stake in KitchenWorld India. The Indian company has been Aran���s channel partner for several years with nine stores across India. As part of the deal, it will now be called Aran KitchenWorld. KitchenWorld, established by Rajesh Bohra, is a Chennai-based group having strong presence in the domestic hardware, modular kitchens and interior design domain for over 15 years. The company plans to strengthen its presence with 50 more stores across the country by 2010. As part of this, on Friday, it launched its flagship store spread over 5,000 sq ft in Delhi.���
