PepsiCo pledges net-zero emissions by 2040

“PepsiCo’s sustainability strategy focuses on areas where it can have the most impact across the full value chain,” the statement said.
Beverages and snacks maker PepsiCo will achieve net zero emissions by 2040 and is targeting reduction of absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain by more than 40% by decade-end, it said in a statement on Thursday.

The company said it has pledged to achieve the net-zero emissions one decade earlier than called for in the Paris Agreement.

“PepsiCo’s sustainability strategy focuses on areas where it can have the most impact across the full value chain,” the statement said.

The company’s emissions reduction plan will be comprehensive across priority areas such as agriculture, packaging, distribution and operations, across global markets, it said.
