One Infosys: The secret to the company’s success

Infosys has had the fastest growth rate among its competition for a couple of quarters now. Their revenue has gone up 16.9 per cent in constant currency for the quarter ended June 30. This was the best first quarter they’ve had in a decade. Their shares are up by 80%, after making a comeback from the hit of the pandemic.

The key to this, has been bringing the entire company together under ‘One Infosys’. Salil Parekh, the CEO said in an interview to TOI, “In many of the large transformation programmes, it’s the whole capability set that comes together to make the difference, unlike earlier, when only some elements would be there. The good part is, within Infosys, we have leading capabilities in about 30 areas, across cloud, data, and analytics, AI, automation, cybersecurity, IoT.”

Infosys manages to do this by making sure its employees are always upskilling and reskilling. They say that besides the platform that the company has put in place, individual employees do also keep focussing on reskilling themselves. The CEO added, “localisation, digital capabilities, and centres of excellence -- each of these focused on horizontals -- data and analytics, cybersecurity, and verticals focused on retirement services and mortgage processing -- has given us a good mix on some of the large deal wins.”


Recently, Infosys has been working on a hybrid experiment, where employees get to work-from-home or come to campus, as the Covid situation gets better. The company says, they need all employees to feel safe and comfortable to work and that each employee has a unique family situation. Hence, their approach has been that of a hybrid one.
