Developers of large commercial complexes and information technology parks across the country are working with local civic authorities and state governments to support the Covid-19 vaccination drive by offering space for vaccine centres.

Blackstone Group-backed Mindspace Business Parks, Embassy Office Parks, Brookfield Properties and DLF are among those that are helping out in vaccination efforts.

“At Embassy REIT, we place a high premium on the wellbeing of all employees across our parks including frontline workers. We have partnered with BBMP to set up CVCs to kick-start the vaccination campaign for those working in our parks,” said Mike Holland, CEO of Embassy REIT.

Developers including K Raheja Corp are also taking such steps, indicating their commitment to providing high levels of safety across business parks in India. “Some of our business parks in Mumbai have been shortlisted as vaccination centres. This will encourage eligible employees to get vaccinated in a controlled and convenient environment of the workspace. We will work in collaboration with the local authorities to ensure the process is seamless,” said Vinod Rohira, CEO, Mindspace Business Parks REIT.

The move will also help in lowering the burden on the already strained medical infrastructure.
