Hyderabad: Octave Intelligence, the industrial software company spun off from Hexagon earlier this year, has opened its Technology and Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, its largest office globally, as it looks to deepen its technology operations and tap India’s growing market for mission-critical infrastructure software.

The 2-lakh-sq-ft facility in HITEC City will serve as a global technology and innovation hub, with capabilities spanning software engineering, AI, data, cloud and product development. Octave has about 1,700 employees in India.

Scott Moore, Global COO, Octave, told ET that Hyderabad would be central to that product-led growth, with the centre working on taking existing products to SaaS, developing new products and adding AI capabilities to existing software.

For Octave, the India opportunity is increasingly extending beyond its role as a technology base. Benjamin Maslen, CFO, Octave, said India was already one of the company’s largest and fastest-growing markets in Asia.

Octave’s software is used across the lifecycle of mission-critical assets, from design and engineering to operations and protection. As India steps up investment in infrastructure and other mission-critical assets, Octave sees a broadening addressable market in areas like metros, railroads, power plants, data centers, and space-tech.

The company is also open to acquisitions as it ramps up post the spin-off. “We're just re-ramping back up,” Maslen said. “I'm sure there are good opportunities here, because there's a lot of amazing technology, and growth opportunities. India is growing very quickly and definitely a market to pay attention to.”
