NTT DATA launches AI upskilling programme for all employees

New Delhi: In a bid to accelerate its employee training initiatives already underway, digital business and IT services company NTT DATA on Thursday announced a Generative AI (GenAI) Talent Development Framework to impart training to all its employees worldwide.

India houses more than 40,000 of NTT DATA’s employees, the most outside the home base for the Japanese company with a headcount of about 200,000.

“With the rapid advancement of generative AI, talent development has become a social imperative. By utilising the framework we have established, we can effectively cultivate highly skilled professionals,” chief executive Yutaka Sasaki said.


The company seeks to provide fundamental GenAI training for all, with certification of at least 15,000 higher-level GenAI practitioners by the end of fiscal year 2024 and doubling that number or more in FY26.

Ranging from essential knowledge about GenAI technology to highest-level expert leaders who drive technology innovations and deployments, the framework defines four levels of expertise.

GenAI experts will advise and support GenAI development and deployment for clients, the company said in a press release.

The company will provide tailored training based on the roles, skill levels and industry specialisation of consultants, developers, GenAI users, salespeople and other roles, it said.
