NEW DELHI: Within months of taking over as CEO of global soft drink giant PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi is all set to transact business in India, a country of her origin, beginning with an interaction with industrialists and taking an overview of the business operations here from tomorrow.

“Nooyi will visit Indian operations during her stay in India for the next few days. She will also be vacationing during the visit, starting today,” a PepsiCo spokesperson said here.

Apart from addressing a gathering at the American Chamber of Commerce in India on Monday, Nooyi will interact with media on the same day.

Nooyi succeeded Steven S Reinemund as the Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo from October one.
She had joined the 33 billion dollar global convenient foods and beverages company in 1994 and has served as president and CFO since 2001, when she was also named to PepsiCo’s board of directors.

Born in Chennai, she graduated in science from the Madras Christian College. After doing her MBA from IIM-C , she did her graduation in management from Yale University.

Fortune magazine had named her among the “50 most powerful women in America” . In 2005, Wall Street Journal named her in its list of 50 women to watch.
