Nooyi bags American By Choice award

WASHINGTON: Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo Indra Nooyi has bagged the American By Choice award for her outstanding achievements as a naturalised American citizen.

The Director of US Citizenship and Immigration Services Emilo Gonzales will present her the award on Monday in a ceremony at the State Department which will be attended by the Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice.

The American By Choice Award will also be presented to the Assistant Secretary for Educational and Cultural Affairs Dina Habib Powell, M J Kahan, Houston City Council Member and Farroqu Kathwari, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Ethan Allen Interiors, Inc.

Rice will also address a special naturalisation ceremony of fifty new American citizens from such countries as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Russia and Vietnam.
