Piruz Khambatta, chairman & managing director, Rasna Pvt. Ltd. was elected as the deputy chairman of the Western Region for the year 2017-18.

MUMBAI: Ninad Karpe, director, Aptech Ltd. is elected as the chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Western Region for 2017-18. Piruz Khambatta, chairman & managing director, Rasna Pvt. Ltd. was elected as the deputy chairman of the Western Region for the year 2017-18, CII said in a statement.

“As a part of this, the major focus areas would be membership engagement, job creation, creating business linkages, start-ups & entrepreneurship and ease of doing business. CII would also work closely with the state governments on clean and safe city through city connect initiatives and also on water and environment,” the CII statement added.

Prior to joining Aptech, where he’s been working since 2009, Karpe worked as a consultant, advising companies seeking to invest in India. During this stint, he authored books on taxation and foreign investment in India. He frequently writes for magazines and contributes to management schools by presentations on business strategy.

While Khambatta is the past chairman of CII Gujarat State Council. He has been the chairman, CII national committee on food processing for three consecutive years and chairman, task force on nation building in western region, the CII statement said.
